The CP850AVRLCD / CP1000AVRLCD provides automatic voltage regulation for
inconsistent utility power. The CP850AVRLCD / CP1000AVRLCD features 890
/1080 Joules of surge protection, and provides battery backup duringpower
outages. The CP850AVRLCD / CP1000AVRLCD ensures consistent power to your
computer system and its included software will automatically save your open files
and shutdown your computer system during a utility power loss.
The CP850AVRLCD / CP1000AVRLCD stabilizes inconsistent utility
power. The incoming utility power may be damaging to important data
files, but with Automatic Voltage Regulation, the computer will not
experience damaging voltage levels. An Automatic Voltage Regulator
automatically increases low or decreases high voltage to a consistent,

HARDWARE INSTALLATION GUIDE
1.Your new UPS may be used immediately upon receipt. However, recharging the batteries
for at least 16 hours is recommended to ensure that the battery’s maximum charge capacity
is achieved. A loss of charge may occur during shipping and storage. To recharge the
batteries, simply leave the unit plugged into an AC outlet. The unit will charge in both the
2.With the UPS unit off and unplugged, connect your computer, monitor, and any externally powered data storage
device (Zip drive, Jazz drive, Tape drive, etc…) into the battery power supplied outlets. Plug your peripheral
equipment (printer, scanner, speakers) into the full-time surge protection outlets. DO NOT plug a laser printer, paper
shredder, copier, space heater, vacuum or other large electrical device into the UPS. The power demands of
these devices will overload and possibly damage the unit.
3. To surge protect a network connection, connect a network cable from the wall jack outlet to the IN jack of the UPS.
Then connect a network cable from the OUT jack on the UPS to the network device.
4.Plug the UPS into a 2 pole, 3 wire grounding receptacle (wall outlet). Make sure the wall branch outlet is protected by
a fuse or circuit breaker and does not service equipment with large electrical demands (e.g. refrigerator, copier, etc…).
The warranty prohibits the use of extension cords, outlet strips, and surge strips.
5.Press the power switch to turn on the unit. The unit will beep twice and the power on indicator will illuminate.
6.If an overload is detected, an audible alarm will sound and the unit will emit one long beep. To correct this, turn the
UPS off and unplug at least one piece of equipment from the battery power supplied outlets. Wait 10 seconds. Make
sure the circuit breaker is depressed and then turn the UPS on.
7.To maintain optimal battery charge, leave the UPS plugged into an AC outlet at all times.
8.To store your UPS for an extended period, cover it and store with the battery fully charged. While in storage recharge
the battery every three months to ensure battery life.

Model #:
CP685AVR

UPC: 649532006854
MSRP: $84.99

The AVR Series CP685AVR UPS is an ideal unit for basic to mid-level computer systems.
The 685AVR guards against surges, spikes, sags, and brownouts, and protects your computer system and valuable data
during a power outage. Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) monitors incoming AC power and maintains a safe voltage
level.
This model also has full dataline protection: RJ11/RJ45 (phone, fax, Ethernet, network, DSL) and RG-6 coax (DSS, cable
modem, satellite, cable TV). PowerPanel PE ™ Power Management supplements the backup/surge protection by
monitoring the status of your UPS and safely shuts down your system in event of a power outage. The standalone design
allows for vertical, horizontal, or out-of-site wall mount.
“Surge-Only” outlets are perfect for the addition of peripherals such as monitors, printers, scanners, iPods, or CD/DVD
players.

• Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) - AVR technology will stabilize the AC signal and maintain a safe voltage level

without switching to battery-mode. This conserves battery life, and delivers a cleaner signal to your connected
equipment.

• GreenPower UPS™ - GreenPower UPS™ technology significantly reduces UPS energy costs by bypassing the AVR

transformer when incoming AC power is clean. This not only dramatically reduces utility consumption, but also
reduces heat dissipation and system noise.

• Ultra-Quiet UPS - The combination of an advanced ventilation design, high-end system components, and

GreenPower UPS™ technology give CyberPower UPS systems the lowest sound emissions in its class. This makes
our UPS perfect for desktop applications, audio/video installations, and quiet workstation environments.

• EMI/RFI - Provides shielding against electromagnetic interference & radio frequency signals. Most commonly, this is

used to prevent line noise or “humming” that occurs over telephone lines or stereo electronics.

• Transformer-spaced Outlets - Widely spaced outlets allow you to conveniently add large transformer-based plugs

without compromising the utility of other outlets.

• USB Connectivity - An HID-compliant USB port enables full integration with the built-in power management and auto

shutdown features of Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X.

• PowerPanel PE ™ Smart Management Software – In event of a power outage, PowerPanel PE saves your open files

and will “Hibernate” your PC to increase the run-time on the UPS unit. PowerPanel is quickly and easily installed on
any Windows-based PC and is designed to utilize minimal system resources. Diagnostic screens give immediate
visuals of the status of your UPS, and also include the following features: Silent operation mode, configurable system
notifications, automatic self tests, adjustable high/low voltage warnings, event/data logging, and scheduled
shutdowns.

• LED Indicators - LED status lights indicate Power-On and wiring faults.

• Audible Alarms - Audible tones identify when the unit is running off battery power, unit overloads, and low battery.

• Convenient Mounting – Multiple mounting options: horizontal, vertical, cabinet, and wall.

• Resettable Circuit Breaker - Convenient unit reset switch in case of an overload.

• 3-year Warranty - CyberPower will replace damaged units if within 3 years of purchase date. We stand behind our

products and guarantee quality. CyberPower also offers a #1 rated technical support team that will assist you with
product, installation, or warranty concerns --- Free of Charge!

• ISO & Safety Certifications - All CyberPower manufacturing facilities are ISO-9001 Quality Tested. Our products are

also certified by the FCC, cUL, and UL.

• Windows Vista ™ compatible - Our Power Management software has been fully tested and is compatible with

Windows 200x, Server, XP, and Vista.
